Position Summary

We are currently looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Factoring Underwriting team. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of direct underwriting experience, be a strong communicator, and have an uncanny attention to detail. The candidate will also have a service oriented mindset, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the Underwriting and Factoring deal pipelines.
  • Engage directly with Franchisees and prospects to ascertain deals are in compliance with company criteria
  • Fully underwrite factoring transactions
  • Review and submit Deal Review Summaries with recommendations to the credit committee
  • Engage with Franchisees directly in order to obtain key data and ensure sufficiency and completion of underwriting documentation
  • Engage directly with potential clients to learn their business, their needs and structure appropriate facilities, as well as preparing proposals
  • Liaise with credit reporting agencies and other credit and compliance vendors to obtain timely and accurate reports
  • Assist in managing a team of Underwriters and Credit Analysts

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills over the phone, in-person, and through email
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and email applications (Gmail)
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education & Experience

  • Completion of a Bachelors Degree at an accredited university, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5 years of direct underwriting experience and/or field audit or field examiner experience, ideally in a series of progressive positions with a lending institution (including factoring and asset based lenders)

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position assists the Director of Underwriting in managing a team of Underwriters and Credit Analysts.
