*Overview* We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Veterinarian Medical Director to take over a historic clinic with a large client base. The clinic is currently without a Dr. or staff as there has been a complete turn over during the process of this clinic becoming independent of the larger Healthy Pets corporation. Applicant will initially have say in hiring a new staff and creating a culture in there image. This clinic long term wishes to allow the applicant to become a partner and full owner of the practice. The clinic is currently equipped for modern surgery, dentistry, Digital Xray and ultrasound through Sound. Clinic also has in house laboratory and hospitalization capacity. This is a opportunity for a experienced self starter to get on a fast track to running and eventually owning a independent clinic. *Duties* * Provide expert veterinary medical oversight for all clinical operations, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. * Lead and mentor veterinary staff, including veterinarians, technicians, and support personnel, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork. * Develop and implement protocols for animal restraint, handling, and care to optimize safety and treatment outcomes. * Oversee complex medical cases involving critical care, anesthesia, surgery, and diagnostics, utilizing your veterinary critical care experience. * Ensure proper use of veterinary terminology, anatomy knowledge, animal physiology understanding, and aseptic techniques during procedures. * Supervise laboratory testing procedures and interpret results to inform accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. * Coordinate pet grooming, animal husbandry, pet care routines, and specialized procedures such as animal catheterization to maintain high standards of hygiene and comfort. * Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment related to veterinary practice areas including laboratory tools and anesthesia supplies. * Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine by participating in continuing education opportunities related to equine experience and other specialties. * . *Skills* * Extensive veterinary experience with a strong background in critical care, anesthesia, surgery, and diagnostics. * Proficiency in animal restraint techniques, handling diverse species including dogs and horses. * Deep understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. * Skilled in performing aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and laboratory testing. * Experience with laboratory diagnostics and interpretation of results for comprehensive patient assessment. * Ability to manage complex cases involving emergency or critical animals with confidence. * Excellent leadership skills with a passion for mentoring staff and fostering professional development in a fast-paced environment. * Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and external partners.
