Job DescriptionAbout the Role: We are seeking a Licensed Civil Engineer (PE) with 5+ years of experience and an entrepreneurial mindset to help grow and lead the Civil Department in our Scottsdale office. This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys ownership, client-facing work, and contributing to the expansion of a growing practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality civil engineering designs and construction documents while supporting business development, mentoring staff, and helping shape department processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering designs and construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
• Lead and support projects involving:
• • Commercial site design
  • Residential site design
  • Grading and earthwork
  • Drainage and stormwater management
  • Erosion control and related civil projects
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, municipalities, and consultants
• Review plans for quality, accuracy, and compliance with local codes and standards
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
• Support project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
• Assist with construction administration and observation as needed

Basic Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 5+ years of civil site design experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a growing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing people and projects
• Background in construction observation
• Familiarity with surveying equipment and field coordination
• Interest in business development and departmental growth
