STARK COUNTY ENGINEER’S OFFICE
ASSISTANT BRIDGE ENGINEER
The Stark County Engineer’s Office is now accepting applicants for the position of Assistant Bridge Engineer. Under the general direction of the Stark County Engineer, the Assistant Bridge Engineer will provide engineering assistance to the Bridge Engineer. This is an on-site full-time position with required field work.
Duties of the Assistant Bridge Engineer include:
· Assist the Bridge Engineer with management of the department’s operation
· Assist with the design of plans for small bridges, culverts, retaining walls, etc.
· Assist with the review of engineering design work to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, etc.
· Assist with maintaining the County’s bridge inventory, managing the County’s bridge inspection and load rating program
· Assist in directing the SCEO Bridge Department personnel and managing contracted work
Qualifications
· Possession of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
· Certification as a Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio (or eligible within 2 years)
· Experience with bridge design and/or inspection preferred (knowledge of computer aided design a plus)
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate. This position is eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance, paid leave, and OPERS retirement benefits.
