Job Description

Professional Search Group (PSG) is partnering with a rapidly growing defense technology company, to hire a Senior Quality Inspector. This is a great opportunity to join an innovative team working on cutting-edge systems supporting national security.

This Senior Quality Inspector is critical in ensuring that materials, components, and finished products meet strict aerospace and defense quality standards. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to drive quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on mechanical, electrical, and electronic components and assemblies
• Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards (AS9100, IPC, etc.)
• Accurately document inspection results and maintain traceable quality records
• Identify and document nonconformances and support root cause and corrective actions
• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes
• Ensure proper use and calibration of inspection tools and measurement equipment
• Support audits, customer inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide mentorship and training to junior inspectors

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (technical certification or degree preferred)
• 2+ years of inspection experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or defense (or 4+ years without a degree)
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
• Experience using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, MIL-SPEC, and IPC standards
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality systems

Preferred Experience

• Associate degree or certification in Quality or related field
• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections
• Familiarity with CMM or 3D scanning equipment
• IPC-A-610/620 or J-STD-001 certification
• Background in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement

Additional Requirements

• Must meet ITAR compliance requirements (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or eligible status)
