As a Maitre d' at Trudie's Tavern, you are the conductor of our dining room and the primary face of our hospitality for every guest who walks through our doors. You serve as a daily ambassador of our culture, working closely with the management team to ensure a seamless dining experience that meets our high standards for service, pace, and guest satisfaction. We are looking for focused, energetic team members who thrive in a high-pressure environment and are committed to continuous self-development. Schedule:

We offer both full-time and part-time hourly roles. Candidates can expect a schedule of 3–5 days per week, with standard shifts lasting approximately 8 hours. Please note that availability for nights, weekends, and select holidays is required. To ensure team consistency and operational success, we require a minimum commitment of three shifts per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading by example in situations where conflict arises by exercising conflict resolution skills.
  • Fostering a calm, supportive environment in both FOH and BOH spaces, encouraging collaboration and respect between departments.

Guest Experience

  • Provide attentive, proactive service that anticipates guest needs before they are articulated.
  • Direct the "art of the meal" by reading the entire room's energy—coordinating with the service team to provide a lingering, relaxed experience versus an efficient, brisk service for guests on a schedule.
  • Maintain the guest database by meticulously adding to and updating guest notes to ensure personalized service across the group.
  • Recognize and welcome regulars, remembering their preferences or previous visits to foster a true neighborhood community feel.
  • Offer an immediate, warm greeting to every guest the moment they enter the space, acting as the primary point of contact for the "front of house" experience.
  • Address guest concerns or service hiccups with grace and immediate solutions, escalating to management when necessary to ensure the guest leaves satisfied.

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain a deep understanding of our food and beverage programs, including seasonal ingredients and inspiration for dishes.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of key menu items, common allergens, and specific culinary techniques used by the kitchen to answer initial guest inquiries.
  • Attend pre-shift briefings to learn about menu modifications and 86'd items, ensuring 100% accuracy when managing guest expectations at the door.
  • Understand the history and mission of the restaurant and RAD Restaurant group to answer guest questions about our other concepts and community involvement.
