Front Desk Hostel Receptionist

We are seeking a responsible and energetic FRONT DESK HOSTEL RECEPTIONIST to join our team. Qualified candidates must maintain both a professional demeanor and character. This is a full time position at a Hostel/Boutique Hotel in East Williamsburg.

Combination of Shifts:

10:30am - 6:30pm

4pm - 12am

Job Responsibilities:

- Checking guests in and out of the hostel - serving as a general information desk with knowledge of New York sites, recommendations, and directions while providing excellent customer service- Responding to e-mails and phone inquiries- Researching weekly activities and events for guests- Maintaining hotel rates and allocations with respect to the availability- Preparing for the next days guest arrivals

- Preparing daily accounting reports- Overseeing daily hostel operations and handling all types of situations- Basic building maintenance and room checks - coordinate issues with housekeeping and maintenance teams- Contributing to our constant growth by working on various projects that can improve our hostels image

Requirements:

- Strong interpersonal skills, as this job requires frequent interaction and communication- Highly organized, attention to detail, courteous, friendly, professional and amiable- Must be hands on and ready to help in other areas if needed and able to fulfill other duties- Previous hospitality/hostel experience preferred- Multiple languages is a plus*
