Our client is seeking a Civil Engineer to support land development, municipal, and site design projects. This role is ideal for an engineer with several years of hands‑on design experience who is ready to take on greater project responsibility and work closely with surveyors, planners, and municipal stakeholders.

Please Note: Candidates must live within a 30–60 minute commute of the Wheeling, IL area. Land surveyors are not a fit for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review grading, drainage, utility, and site development plans.
- Coordinate with in‑house surveyors, planners, and external project partners.
- Lead and support civil/site design projects from concept through construction.
- Communicate with municipalities, clients, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform engineering calculations and ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience preparing permit‑ready design packages and engineering calculations.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for producing grading, drainage, utility, and site plans.
- 3+ years of experience in civil/site/land development or municipal/transportation projects.
Preferred Skills:
- Field engineering or construction‑phase support experience.
- FE/EIT certification or active pursuit of licensure (company will support PE path)
- Experience with municipal permitting, plan submittals, and responding to review comments.
