Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Summary:
As a key member of a team, the Operator will be responsible for operating production lines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The team's goal is to produce the target volume and quality of cans per production station annually, working efficiently and safely to ensure high standards are met. Operators will collaborate daily with team members to maintain production goals while ensuring top-quality products are produced.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete all training requirements to become an Operator.
  • After training completion, perform the following tasks as part of the production team:
    1. Accept and quality check materials staged by material handlers, verifying correct lot numbers, quantities, etc.
    2. Load top and bottom canisters into each conveyor correctly and operate in accordance with production standards.
    3. Load all label material (side, top, bottom) in the label station and operate in accordance with production standards.
    4. Operate the Checkweigher/Metal Detector in compliance with quality standards.
    5. Accurately set the “Best By” date on the inkjetter.
    6. Perform a pre-operations inspection with the QA Manager.
    7. Understand status/error indicators and take appropriate corrective actions.
    8. Complete all shift QC documentation and follow proper submission processes.
    9. Clean and prep workstations for the next shift.
    10. Consistently meet daily production efficiency standards as set by the production team.
    11. Ensure adherence to all food safety and internal operating protocols.

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to loud noise, machinery with moving parts, and occasional variable temperatures.

Essential Functions:

  • Reliability in reporting to work on time to ensure the timely start of production.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 35 lbs.
  • Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to operate computers, telephones, and other manufacturing/warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in a high-hygiene environment, following dress code policies and PPE requirements (such as hair nets, gloves, etc.) as directed by the QA Manager.
