Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Registered Nurse with a Massachusetts license is needed for a unique school nursing position supporting a 9-year-old student with diabetes. This travel role involves providing dedicated 1:1 care, beginning at the students home in Waltham, MA, accompanying the student on the bus to school in Lexington, MA, and remaining with the student throughout the school day before riding the bus back to the students home in Waltham or Watertown. This role requires compassionate, attentive nursing to manage diabetes care in a dynamic and supportive educational setting. Key Responsibilities: * Provide individualized diabetes care for a pediatric student from morning until mid-afternoon * Assist with managing blood glucose levels, administering insulin, and monitoring overall health throughout the school day * Coordinate safe transportation between residence and school, accompanying the student on the bus trips * Collaborate closely with family members, school staff, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and communication * Maintain accurate health records and documentation as required by regulatory and school guidelines Qualifications and Experience: * Valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license is mandatory; LPN or CNA credentials will not be accepted * Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing, ideally with diabetes management * Ability to provide 1:1 nursing care in community and school settings * Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families and school personnel * Flexibility to work Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM to 3:40 PM, with some variation depending on transportation Location: * Position requires travel between residences in Waltham and Watertown, MA, and the school building in Lexington, MA This opportunity offers meaningful work supporting a childs health and educational success within a structured, supportive environment.
