Full-Time | Contract to Hire
2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 06 AM to 2:00 PM or 6 AM to 6 PM
Pay Rate: $20.52/hour
Occasional Saturdays Required

Sigma Inc. is currently seeking a Production Operator to join a manufacturing team in St. Joseph, Missouri. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with production, machine operation, or manufacturing experience who are reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

The Production Operator will perform repetitive machine and process operations while following established procedures. The role involves operating manufacturing equipment, recording production data, and making minor adjustments to machinery as directed. Training is provided, and proficiency is typically achieved within a few months.

• Operate production machinery following prescribed routines and safety guidelines
• Perform repetitive production and processing tasks
• Make basic adjustments to processes or machinery as directed
• Record and report production numbers accurately
• Operate manufacturing equipment including, but not limited to:
  • Packers
  • Palletizers
  • Forklifts
  • Mixers
  • Pellet Mills
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Wear required PPE at all times (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection)

• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
• Ability to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Basic math and counting skills
• Strong attention to detail and observation skills
• Excellent punctuality and attendance
• Flexible schedule, including occasional Saturdays
• Steel-toe shoes required

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required

• Knowledge of and compliance with all safety guidelines
• Background check and drug test required prior to start

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Accurate record-keeping and reporting
• Dependable and safety-minded
• Adaptable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
