Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated, student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, and passionate about supporting diverse learners within a competency-based framework. This educator will play a key role in ensuring students receive individualized support while actively engaging in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals and competency-based progression
• Provide differentiated instruction in small-group, inclusion, and project-based settings
• Adapt curriculum and materials to support a variety of learning styles, including within agriculture and experiential learning environments
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and supports
• Utilize behavioral, social-emotional, and de-escalation strategies to support student success
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of student progress and services
• Communicate regularly with families to support student growth both in and out of school

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Special Education certification
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, and developmental delays
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a flexible, innovative educational environment
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and advocacy for all students
• Willingness to engage in hands-on, real-world and agriculture-based learning experiences
