Job Overview

This property is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary brigade. The candidate we seek must have extensive experience in fine dining, from scratch cooking , catering & banquets, as well as food production and organization. They are expected to have strong communications skills, the ability to teach, natural judgment and team management skills.

As a key member of our kitchen management, you will oversee daily operations, ensure food safety standards, and contribute to menu planning and kitchen efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional to showcase their expertise in a dynamic hospitality environment dedicated to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, including shift management and staff supervision
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high-quality standards are met consistently
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
• Manage inventory control and food safety compliance, including ordering supplies and maintaining proper storage procedures
• Coordinate catering events, banquets, and special functions with attention to detail and timely execution
• Participate in menu planning and development to reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment
• Support food service management by overseeing daily kitchen activities and maintaining efficient workflow
• Handle dietary department requirements when necessary, ensuring all special dietary needs are met accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fine dining, catering & banquet service, or catering environments with a strong culinary background
• Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership abilities in a fast-paced kitchen setting
• Knowledge of food industry standards including food safety, handling, inventory management, and kitchen operations
• Experience with food production and food service management
• Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative work environment
• Excellent cooking skills across various cuisines with an emphasis on quality presentation and a passion for local sourcing
• Familiarity with dietary requirements and food handling regulations
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and safety
