Pleasant Mills, PA *Compensation: *$50k to $70k per year, health, eye, and dental insurance, ext. *POSITION SUMMARY* The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport, hauling, and delivery of products (primarily pallets, building materials, and general freight) across Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Operating a fleet of pre-emissions Freightliners with dry van and flatbed trailers, the driver ensures all commercial activities comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and company safety standards. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* *Reasonable Accommodations Statement* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. *Driving & Operations* * Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in a safe, responsible, and professional manner at all times. * Perform mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections in strict compliance with DOT guidelines to ensure vehicle roadworthiness. * Secure and unsecure loads using straps; ensure cargo weight is distributed safely and legally. No tarping expected. * Manage regional routes including 'out and back' same-day runs and occasional overnight assignments. * Refuel vehicles at the company fuel facility at the conclusion of each shift. *Compliance & Documentation* * Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records in accordance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. * Diligently manage all delivery paperwork, including Trip Sheets, Fuel Logs, and Proof of Delivery (POD) documents. * Adhere to all FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements, including pre-employment and random testing. * Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and current Medical Examiners Certificate (Med Card). *Communication & Professionalism* * Maintain regular communication with the Dispatcher; report any route deviations, delays, or mechanical issues immediately. * Represent Ivan P. Lauver & Son, Inc. with a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with customers and the public. * Keep the assigned vehicle interior neat, orderly, and free of debris. *POSITION QUALIFICATIONS* *Competency Statements* * *Safety Awareness:* Deep understanding of the responsibility involved in operating a vehicle weighing up to 80,000 lbs on public highways. * *Reliability:* Proven track record of dependability and punctuality to ensure customer delivery windows are met. * *Time Management:* Ability to self-manage pace and rest breaks to complete scheduled runs within legal driving hours. * *Customer Oriented:* Ability to maintain professional relationships with loading and unloading facility personnel. * *Responsibility:* Ability to take full ownership of assigned equipment and strictly follow safety protocols. *SKILLS & ABILITIES* * *Education:* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. * *Experience:* Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience required. * *Age Requirement:* Must be at least 26 years of age (for insurance and compliance purposes). * *Computer Skills:* Basic proficiency required to operate Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and mobile communication apps. * *Certificates & Licenses:* Valid Class A CDL and current Medical Card are mandatory. * *Physical Demands:* Must be able to enter/exit a truck cab frequently, pull/throw 4 straps for load securement, and sit for the maximum allowable driving hours under DOT regulations. *WORK SCHEDULE* The schedule is determined by customer receiving times and operational needs.
