Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our growing service team. You’ll work on buses, wheelchair-accessible vans, and specialized mobility equipment such as hand controls, transfer seats, and scooter lifts. No flat-rate pressure, just stable hours and rewarding work that makes a difference.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair gas and diesel vehicles including commercial buses, school buses, and wheelchair accessible vans.
• Install and service mobility equipment (wheelchair lifts, scooter hoists, hand controls, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and test aftermarket A/C systems
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and safety checks
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform general mechanical repairs
• Road test vehicles and ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Accurately document work and communicate with the Service Manager and team
• Communicate clearly with the Parts Department to ensure all needed parts are correctly identified and ordered

Requirements

• Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of automotive service practices, including powertrain and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to interact with team members and customers.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications (ASE, OEM) are a plus.
• Bus, mobility equipment, or commercial vehicle experience a plus, but not required.
