What You’ll Do

 

·        Deliver external beam radiation treatments safely and accurately according to physician prescription a Varian TrueBeam

·        Properly document simulations, treatments, and patient care activities in Aria

·        Adhere to departmental quality assurance and radiation safety protocols per ACR

·        Rotate on call schedule between therapists

·        Prepare and construct equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, or protection devices

·        Position patients for simulation on a GE Discovery CT scanner

·        Administer prescribed doses of radiation to the specific treatment area according to established practices and standards

·        Check equipment to ensure proper operations following established quality assurance and warm-up procedures

·        Perform time out procedure before administering radiation treatment

·        Understand and respond to medical emergencies

·        Check for side effects of radiation and notify appropriate staff.

·        Participate in supporting programs (chart rounds, safety meetings, ACR, etc.)

·        Perform chart reviews and report issues to Lead Therapist

·        Maintaining the integrity of patient records and HIPAA rules and regulations

·        Flexibility of hours depending on patient census

·        Assist with other duties as needed

 

Qualifications

 

·        Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program

·        ARRT Registered

·        CPR Certified

·        Hold Indiana State License

·        Understanding of Microsoft Office and office specific software programs.

·        Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds

·        Sitting/standing for up to 30 minutes at a time
