HealthBay is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a variety of recreational activities for our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents
- Plan and organize a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, games, music, exercise programs, and cultural events
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a well-rounded and engaging activities program
- Create and maintain a budget for all activities and manage expenses effectively
- Keep track of resident participation and make adjustments to the activities program as needed
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with activities and events
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for all activities
- Communicate with residents and their families to gather feedback and suggestions for activities
- Plan and coordinate special events and outings for residents, such as holiday parties and community outings
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and research in the field of senior activities to continuously improve the program
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a senior living facility
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Knowledge of different types of recreational activities and their benefits for seniors
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs
