Assistant Controller

 

Pride Health is hiring an Assistant Controller for one of its healthcare clients in Geneva, NY.

This is a 13-week contract opportunity offering competitive pay and benefits.

 

Location: Geneva, NY

Length of Assignment:13 Weeks Contract

Pay rate: $70-$72 per hour on W2

Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week

 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the Fiscal Services department. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and financial reporting experience, leadership capabilities, and preferably prior hospital or health system experience. This role will oversee payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and audit activities while supervising accounting staff.

 

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll, accounts payable, LTC resident funds, and non-patient billing functions.
• Oversee invoice processing, three-way matching, payment runs, and 1099 compliance.
• Ensure accurate payroll processing, including tax accruals, benefit deductions, and W-2 reconciliation using ADP and Workday.
• Produce monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
• Coordinate insurance policies and evaluate annual policy charges and rate increases.
• Ensure accurate and timely local, state, and federal tax filings.
• Assist with year-end audits and preparation of auditor-requested schedules.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and revenue analysis.
• Supervise AP Clerks, Payroll Coordinator, Accounting Coordinator, and Accounting Assistant.

 

Qualifications

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Prior management-level accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.

 

Preferred:
• Previous hospital or health system accounting experience.
• ADP and Workday experience.
• CPA Certification.
• Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
