Discover Impactful Work:

As an Associate Project Manager, you are responsible for coordinating set-up, maintenance, transition, and closure activities for metrology programs. Works in collaboration with Support Services teams, project managers and technical leads across the lab. Consults on project management issues and supports overall function of the project management group.

A day in the Life:

Schedules group meetings and teleconferences, prepares and distributes agendas, and records and distributes minutes. Monitors completion of shipment requests.

Manages existing programs. Onboards new programs using project management tools and templates as appropriate and in collaboration with other Support Services teams.

Monitors assignments and adjusts priorities and work schedule to meet deadlines and provide high quality deliverables. Completes additional tasks as needed in support of project, client, and departmental objectives.

Ensures timely completion of program activities and deliverables. Documents communication and actions with project teams.

Serves as designated back-up for PM staff and point of contact coverage for project managers when out-of-office. Reviews and prepares with project managers in advance of coverage.

Advises project managers on procedural and budgetary items and the necessity for change due to any subsequent modifications and/or protocol amendments. Provides administrative support in the procurement of departmental needs.

Keys to Success:Education
  • Associate's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
Experience
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 2 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.

  • Good organizational and project management skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple assignments with challenging/conflicting deadlines
  • Effective project management and organizational skills

  • General knowledge of GMP development and validation processes and programs

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
