Job Description

Infinigen Renewables is a Puerto Rico based, ArcLight Capital backed platform, focused on utility-scale and commercial and industrial (C&I) solar and energy storage projects. The platform includes a dedicated operating and asset management team positioned to develop, build and operate renewable opportunities in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Role Overview

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for implementing Infinigen Renewables’ sustainability strategy, environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives, and government relations efforts. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with all business and environmental standards, enhance corporate ESG performance, and align sustainability goals with business operations. You will play a key role in developing and implementing sustainability programs, managing stakeholder engagement, and ensuring adherence to evolving ESG regulations. Additionally, you will provide support to the General Counsel on legal issues, leveraging your legal expertise to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and ensure compliance and contractual covenants.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance across corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal risk and compliance.
• Support strategic transactions, including M&A, financing, and partnerships.
• Implement and adhere to standardized procedures and frameworks, including Infinigen’s procurement process, when negotiating and reviewing contracts.
• Review existing contracts and draft correspondence to enforce the company’s rights Develop and implement legal policies and processes.
• Stay current on relevant laws and regulations affecting our business.
• Conduct legal research and provide guidance on regulatory changes and their impact on the company’s operations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and support the development of internal policies and procedures.
• Engage with key policymakers and stakeholders in efforts related to advancing public policy agenda.
• Manage external counsel relationships as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the bar in Puerto Rico.
• Minimum 6–8 years of legal experience, ideally with both law firm and in-house exposure.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, renewable energy policies, and corporate sustainability frameworks.
• Experience working with government agencies and other industry stakeholders.

Requirements

• Fluency in Spanish and English (both written and verbal).
• Based in Puerto Rico (or willing to relocate).
• Strong project management, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong writing and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
• Experience in policy advocacy, public affairs, or sustainability reporting is a plus.
