Platt & Westby is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. This position gives you the opportunity to expand on your foundation in a varied practice across civil litigation, family law, and probate matters. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of legal experience and is motivated and eager to acquire extensive courtroom experience, handle client relationships, and advance professionally within a collaborative and established law firm.
*Duties:*
* Represent clients in civil, family law, and probate matters.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and engagement.
* Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents.
* Attend court hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
* Handle the preparation, organization, and management of contracts, sales agreements, and all related documentation.
* Proactively manage caseloads while maintaining high standards of client service and responsiveness.
* Communicate efficiently with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and third parties.
* Aide with case strategy and litigation preparation.
* Review and extensively analyze legal documents, contracts, financial records, evidence findings and more.
* Organize and maintain accurate case files, billing records, and time entries.
* Keep updated on legal developments affecting the firm's practice areas.
*Required Skills/Abilities:*
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
* Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a legal team.
* Professional demeanor and commitment to ethical legal practice.
*Education and Experience:*
* Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
* License to practice law in Arizona and in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona.
* Minimum of 1-3 years of legal experience.
* Experience in civil litigation, family law, probate, or a combination of these practice areas.
* Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
*Preferred:*
