We are seeking a Business Development Specialist who will be responsible for managing and strengthening relationships with state agencies while ensuring operational compliance, documentation accuracy, and contract management.

This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a high level of accountability when handling sensitive data and compliance-related documentation.


Key ResponsibilitiesState Agency Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with state agencies (DMV/BMV/DPS)
  • Maintain professional communication and follow-ups with agency representatives
  • Coordinate submissions, documentation, and ongoing requests
Application & Process Management
  • Track application statuses across multiple states
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely submissions
  • Maintain internal reporting on progress and approvals
Contract & Data Management
  • Manage data contracts and state agreements
  • Support negotiation processes and documentation reviews
  • Ensure contracts are properly archived and accessible
Portal & Account Administration
  • Handle state web portals and agency account access
  • Maintain credentials securely
  • Troubleshoot portal-related access or submission issues
Security & Compliance
  • Handle security documentation requests
  • Manage compliance-related documentation and reporting
  • Ensure adherence to state and internal data protection requirements
  • Coordinate audits and respond to compliance inquiries

General Business Development Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and expansion
  • Support strategic growth initiatives within government partnerships
  • Maintain CRM and internal tracking systems
  • Prepare reports and updates for leadership

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in Business Development, Government Relations, Compliance, or Operations
  • Experience working with state agencies or regulated environments is a strong plus
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Compliance:

    • Ability to interpret new state legislation or DMV/DPS policy changes and pivot the company’s operational strategy to maintain compliance before a deadline is even set
    • Proven experience in designing and implementing internal audit frameworks. They should be able to perform "spot checks" on the Specialist’s work to ensure 100% accuracy in sensitive state documentation
    • The "political" side of compliance. If a state agency (DMV/BMV) flags a compliance issue, the Manager must have the "soft skills" and seniority to negotiate with high-level state officials to resolve the discrepancy without losing the account
