Captain/Lead Server

acts as the senior service expert and team leader, overseeing the dining room flow to ensure high-quality service. They combine high-level guest interaction, such as taking orders and managing VIPs, with team leadership, including training, delegating to support staff, and communicating with the kitchen to manage meal pacing. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Leadership: Leads the front-of-house team, runs pre-shift meetings, and delegates tasks to runners and back waiters.
  • Guest Experience & Sales: Welcomes guests, provides detailed menu recommendations (including wine pairings), manages dietary needs, and handles table-side service.
  • Operational Control: Coordinates with the kitchen to manage the pace of service and ensure food quality.
  • Mentorship: Trains and coaches staff on service standards, etiquette, and POS system efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Handles guest complaints and resolves issues quickly to ensure satisfaction.
  • Administrative Duties: Performs final section checks, manages, closes guest checks, and handles payments.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
