About the role
We are seeking an experienced Cook to join the Savory team. In this role, you will support daily food production, order fulfillment, quality control, and presentation while maintaining Savory and Department of Health safety standards.

The ideal candidate has previous prep or line cook experience, works efficiently in a high-volume kitchen, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation and Production

  • Complete daily prep lists provided by the executive and sous chefs.
  • Measure ingredients, prepare seasonings, wash and cut vegetables, and portion proteins.
  • Prepare salads, sandwiches, entrées, and other menu items as assigned.
  • Follow recipes and production standards for quality, portioning, and presentation.

Cleaning and Food Safety

  • Label, date, store, and rotate ingredients properly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
  • Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and remove waste.
  • Follow all nutrition, sanitation, and Department of Health guidelines.

Team Support

  • Support order fulfillment and daily kitchen operations.
  • Communicate clearly with chefs and culinary team members.
  • Assist with additional kitchen responsibilities as needed.

Job Requirements

Experience and Skills

  • At least two years of experience as a prep or line cook in a restaurant, catering, or high-volume food service operation.
  • Knowledge of kitchen health and safety practices.
  • Strong knife skills and comfort performing a variety of knife cuts.
  • Ability to use kitchen tools and equipment safely.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment.
  • Positive, dependable, and team-oriented approach.
  • Department of Health Food Protection Certificate preferred.

Schedule and Physical Requirements

  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods in varying temperature conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly lift up to 25 pounds.
