Job Overview
Professional Search Group OC is seeking a skilled and energetic Welder specializing in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding tasks on various metal components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and technical specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality structures and assemblies across construction, manufacturing, and custom fabrication projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of materials, including sheet metal, ductwork, and pipe systems, utilizing advanced welding techniques and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on diverse materials such as sheet metal, pipe, and structural components following detailed blueprints and schematics.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and quality standards.
  • Operate fabrication machinery including press brake machines, plasma cutters, and press brakes to shape and prepare materials for welding.
  • Apply knowledge of ASME codes & standards to maintain compliance during welding processes involving pressure vessels or critical structures.
  • Conduct rigging and assembly tasks as needed for installation or fabrication projects on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to welding, rigging, machining, and handling hazardous materials.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in construction site environments with a strong background in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with various hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems including pipe threading, ductwork installation, soldering, and assembly processes.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and material estimations.
  • Experience working with crane operations or forklift machinery is a plus for material handling tasks.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards related to welding (including FCAW - Flux-Cored Arc Welding), rigging, machining, and construction practices.
