Job DescriptionWe are representing an outstanding, financially solid and growing NC manufacturing organization seeking to hire a Director of Wholesale Accounting. This is an on-site role near Hickory, NC and has opportunity for growth

The Director of Wholesale Accounting is responsible for the accounting functions for the wholesale segment and will be based at the Newton, North Carolina facility. The wholesale segment of the business accounts for approximately $225 million in sales

This person is expected to work closely with plant and operations management to:

· Understand material and manufacturing costs to assist in developing and maintaining appropriate standard costs used for pricing products

· Monitor manufacturing efficiencies and variances and assist in the development of process improvement activities

· Ensure financial integrity within the ERP system

The Director of Wholesale Accounting reports directly to the Vice President, Corporate Controller with significant collaboration with plant and operations management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensure accurate financial information for the manufacturing locations and various cost centers

· Prepare monthly plant financial statements with analysis of variances to budget and prior year for review with operations and corporate management

· Liaise with product engineering and purchasing departments to accurately cost new products

· Liaise with product engineering and purchasing departments to ensure costs for existing products are accurate

· Analyze financial data to understand the business drivers so that operations and corporate management can make informed decisions

· Prepare annual budgets for the manufacturing locations and various cost centers

· Prepare forecasts and projections where needed by operations or corporate management

· Oversee and coordinate inventory control, cycle counts and external and internal audits

· Perform gross margin analysis to ensure inventories are stated at the lower of cost or market

QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting; licensed CPA preferable

· 5 years of accounting experience with significant exposure to cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills

· Exposure to ERP and cost accounting systems

· Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

· Problem solving skills with superior attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability and confidence to communicate effectively with plant and corporate management

Salary $110,000 - $130,000Company Description
