Director of Food & Beverage

Location: Washington, D.C. (Luxury Hotel Property)

Objective:
The hotel is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Food & Beverage to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all dining and event operations. This pivotal role involves spearheading a bold new direction for the property's F&B program, focusing on a high-end, innovative Mexican culinary concept across multiple outlets. The ideal candidate will combine a passion for authentic, luxury Mexican cuisine with strong financial acumen and exceptional leadership skills to deliver a world-class guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Concept Development & Execution: Lead the successful launch and ongoing operation of the new high-end Mexican F&B concept, ensuring all outlets deliver an exceptional, on-brand experience that is aligned with market trends and customer expectations.
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise all F&B departments, including restaurants, bars/lounges, banquets/catering, and in-room dining, ensuring compliance with quality, service, and safety standards.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage departmental budgets, including forecasting sales, monitoring labor and food costs, and maximizing profitability without compromising guest satisfaction.
  • Menu & Beverage Program: Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef on innovative, seasonal menu design and development. Curate and maintain an attractive beverage program (wine, spirits, cocktails) that complements the culinary concept and meets financial goals.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a diverse, high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and guest-centric service.
  • Guest Experience: Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction by providing above-and-beyond service, promptly addressing feedback, and ensuring memorable dining experiences across all outlets.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all health, safety, sanitation, and liquor licensing regulations, ensuring a safe and compliant environment.
  • Marketing & Promotions: Partner with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement promotional campaigns and special events that drive demand and revenue.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in food and beverage management, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role within a luxury hotel or fine dining environment.
  • Proven experience in opening, repositioning, or concept development for high-end dining venues is highly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary culinary and beverage trends, with a specific passion for and understanding of high-end Mexican cuisine and culture.
  • Strong business acumen, including proficiency in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and build strong relationships.
  • Flexibility to work a demanding schedule, including weekends and holidays, to meet the demands of a 24-hour luxury operation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant food safety and sanitation certifications are required.
