WHAT YOU’LL DO• Collaborate as a team player across both the front and back of the house of KABIN.• Maintains cleanliness and appearance of the dish area at all times.• Keeps all chemicals full during service so machines are cleaning properly and informssupervisors if quantities are low.• Cleans and sanitizes all areas and surfaces of the restaurant, including the exterior,before and after service.• Cleans, sanitizes and polishes dirty glassware, flatware, plateware, and kitchenwarebefore, during, and after service.• Cleans and sanitizes all restaurant equipment, such as ice machines, refrigerators,water machines, stoves, ovens, fryers, and dishwashers.• Polishes glassware and stores it safely.• Removes and breaks down boxes from the receiving area.• Sorts and disposes of trash (compost, recycling, and garbage).• Supports additional projects as needed.WHO YOU ARE• You have a genuine warmth and a passion for hospitality.• Thorough in everything you do and ensure your team is set up for successful service.• You have excellent communication skills, particularly with management and teammembers.• You have excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability tomultitask.• You are willing to jump in and assist with additional duties when needed.• You are able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure.• You are able to troubleshoot on their own or with the assistance of managers or otherteam members when necessary.• You demonstrate appropriate workplace behavior and treat all employees with respect.• You are comfortable and effective at taking direction from other staff and delegatingtasks.• You are a team player who can set your ego aside and find win-for-all solutions.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES• 1 year porter or service experience in an NYC high-volume restaurant preferred• Knowledge of standard restaurant service procedures, including wine service• Knowledge of each job function on the floor and understanding of the priorities ofservice• Must be punctual and reliable• Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays• Ability to speak multiple languages, including English and Spanish, is a bonusHEALTH & SAFETY• NYC Food Handler’s Certification required• Adhere to the highest standards of food safety, food handling, sanitation, workplacesafety, and hygiene requirements according to the New York City Department of Healthstandards to ensure the health and safety of team members and guests• Adhere to COVID-19 sanitation protocols issued by the Center for Disease Control• Adhere to time and temperature protocolsWORK ENVIRONMENT• Involves standing and walking the entire shift• Involves holding objects with hands• Involves reaching, bending, and stooping frequently• Involves lifting, moving, and carrying at least 50 pounds with frequency throughoutthe shift
