IEP owns and operates over 120,000 acres of timberland located in northern Idaho and eastern Washington.

IEP is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor to supervise, direct, support, and coordinate the activities of the electrical and instrumentation team for execution of assigned work in safe, efficient and effective manner for a pulp and paper operation consisting of a paper machine, mechanical ground wood pulp mill, gas fired boilers and effluent water treatment system along with supporting equipment and processes. This role will work closely with the mill maintenance manager to execute work. 

Job Description
  • Manage mill E&I processes to ensure equipment reliability and uptime sufficient to support targeted production rates. Works closely with Maintenance Manager in all aspects of work execution.
  • Manage safety programs for E&I personnel including participation in safety committee meetings and follow-up as well as support for all safety related work orders.
  • Manage E&I maintenance staffing needs including accurate time records, scheduling, vacations, individual work performance and training processes to maintain an adequately trained workforce to support operation needs. Understand and manage to the provisions of the Union labor agreement.
  • Manage and continuously improve E&I maintenance labor and material costs.
  • Provide assistance to Maintenance Manager and engineering in all aspects of capital expenditures and major expense projects and their implementation.
  • Develop and implement an E&I work planning/scheduling process alongside the mechanical planning/scheduling process to efficiently execute work and reduce inventory costs.
  • Stays on top of maintenance best practices and applies when applicable. Reviews electrical standards and develops ongoing plans to maintain compliance.
  • Work closely with purchasing and storeroom to evaluate spare parts inventory to ensure proper quantity and risk management. Manage internal repair items for cost effective repair and timely return to stock.
  • Manages the ongoing training of Journeyman and apprentices ensuring adequate knowledge base for the mill.
  • Perform special or occasional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated strong E&I background required (paper mill experience preferred) along with a good understanding of associated peripheral equipment. College degree in mechanical engineering or other discipline desired.
  • Ability to organize and direct maintenance work in an efficient manner.
  • Requires excellent participative leadership capabilities, with strong forward thinking and ability to motivate others toward common goals.
  • Good computer skills with maintenance management software experience and the ability to quickly learn new processes and systems. Must be able to effectively coordinate and plan the daily activities of a large group.
  • Strong knowledge in Program Logic Controllers (PLC) and Distributive Control Systems (DCS) programming.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading a work team in a Union environment.

Additional Information
  • The Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor pay range is $80,000 to $120,000 depending on experience and education.
