Encapsulation Operator — R&D Support Location: Atlanta, GA Salary Range: $45,000 to $60,000 per year Position Summary A growing organization specializing in GMP-certified supplement manufacturing is seeking a skilled Encapsulation Operator to join its Research and Development support team. Core Responsibilities
Operate encapsulation equipment to fill hard-shell capsules with powder, pellet, and granule formulations according to batch records and standard operating procedures
Support R&D trials by preparing small-batch prototype runs, adjusting fill weights, and recording all process parameters with accuracy
Perform in-process quality checks including capsule weight verification, visual inspection, and leak testing
Clean, assemble, disassemble, and perform routine maintenance on encapsulation machinery following validated cleaning procedures
Accurately complete all batch records, logbooks, and deviation reports in compliance with GMP documentation requirements
Collaborate with R&D scientists to troubleshoot formulation or equipment issues that arise during experimental runs
Assist with equipment changeovers between product runs and ensure all materials are properly labeled and segregated
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant production workspace at all times
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and process improvement projects as requested
Must-Have Requirements
Minimum two years of hands-on experience operating encapsulation equipment in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices as they apply to dietary supplement or pharmaceutical production
Demonstrated ability to accurately complete batch records and production documentation with minimal errors
Experience performing in-process checks and basic quality control tasks
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during production shifts
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift based on R&D project needs
