Job DetailsUpscale Award-winning Italian restaurant is seeking a Beverage Manager with an appetite for knowledge & a high level of awareness to join us in creating a team-based, confident, gracious & personable experience for both our teams and our guests.
The Beverage Manager maintains the service standards set by the Kitchen and Dining Room at Osteria Restaurant.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for leading many aspects of dining room service that include, but are not limited to:
- Performing beverage service at the restaurant
- Maintaining stock of by-the-glass wines and bar spirits
- Supporting the dining room staff through beverage station setup, dining room set up, and dinner service
- Bringing food from the kitchen to guests’ tables and clearing dishes from guests’ tables back to the kitchen
- Maintaining dining room service materials and guest water levels
- Providing attentive and courteous service and reporting relevant guest feedback to management

- Recipes for Cocktails are in a folder at the bar

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Open availability (we're currently open seven days a week)
- Possess extensive knowledge of beverages from Italy, United States, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, and other wine regions
- Recognize spirits/liqueurs utilized in classic cocktails
- Demonstrate dexterity to open wines, spirits/liqueurs, and non-alcoholic beverages and illustrate proper glassware knowledge to pour the respective wines, spirits/liqueurs and non-alcoholic beverages
- 3+ years of service and beverage experience in a fine dining restaurant preferred
- Certification as a Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers is a plus
- Eagerness to learn about our principles through active participation in dining room service training
- Positive attitude and an ability to follow directions and accept constructive feedback
- Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Prioritization skills and strong verbal communication skills
- Able to improvise and make impromptu decisions in accordance with the steps of service and the restaurant’s standards
- Ability to multitask in discrete time periods, maintain a flexible schedule, and to show efficient use of time
- Able to comprehend different food allergies and dietary restrictions from guests and communicate relevant food allergies and dietary restrictions to Kitchen and Dining Room Managers
- Works well in a team
