Arlo Washington D.C., operated by Renwick Hospitality Group (Lindens, Altair, Lulla, Foxtail), is seeking a strong, hospitality‑driven Food & Beverage Manager to join our leadership team. This role supports both the restaurant at Arlo Washington D.C. and ART DC, our high‑energy rooftop bar. Job Summary

The Food & Beverage Manager oversees the daily operations of the restaurant and rooftop bar, ensuring the highest standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication, and a deep understanding of food and beverage operations within a dynamic hotel environment.

 

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
  • Oversee the opening and closing of all F&B spaces, ensuring procedures are followed with precision.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence during service, reinforcing Renwick Hospitality standards and supporting the team in real time.
  • Ensure all steps of service, hospitality expectations, and guest‑facing details align with RHG core values.
Ordering, Inventory & Financial Controls
  • Manage order intake, verify invoices, and communicate with the finance team.
  • Oversee inventory levels to ensure proper stock while minimizing waste.
  • Follow all Renwick administrative and financial procedures, including team reports, cash drawers, cash intake, and nightly reporting.
Team Training & Development
  • Possess strong knowledge of all food and beverage offerings to support training and build team confidence.
  • Lead pre‑shift meetings, communicate goals, and ensure the team understands the “why” behind decisions.
  • Mentor, motivate, and develop staff to achieve operational excellence.
Guest Experience & Communication
  • Engage with guests to enhance their experience, resolve concerns, and anticipate needs.
  • Support the team in delivering warm, polished, and consistent hospitality across all outlets.
Floor Planning & Service Flow
  • Create and adjust floor plans based on business levels, reservations, and events.
  • Ensure smooth pacing and flow throughout service, balancing the needs of the restaurant, rooftop, and hotel guests.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and guest‑ready environment at all times.
Event Support
  • Assist in planning and executing special events, activations, and promotions across the property.
  • Collaborate with the events team to ensure seamless communication and service execution.
Conflict Resolution
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or operational issues promptly and effectively.
  • Support staff through challenges with professionalism and clarity.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a hotel, rooftop, or high‑volume environment.
  • Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of restaurant operations, inventory management, and service standards.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy setting.
