Lead Dental Assistant Location: Downtown Phoenix, AZ — On-site, Full‐time Company: Downtown Phoenix Dental

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. The Lead Dental Assistant will provide chairside support, oversee daily assistant workflows, ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols, and act as a clinical mentor to other assistants. This role requires strong clinical skills, leadership, and excellent patient communication.
Key Responsibilities
Provide efficient chairside support for restorative, preventative, endodontic, and surgical procedures
Prepare operatories, instruments, and materials; perform sterilization and infection-control procedures
Take and process dental radiographs (permitted by certification) and maintain accurate radiographic records
Assist with patient intake, medical/dental history reviews, and patient education on post-op and home care
Coordinate daily assistant schedules and delegate tasks; train and mentor junior assistants
Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure equipment is in working order
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state dental board regulations
Support the dentist during procedures and help manage patient flow for efficiency and comfort
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification in Arizona
Current dental radiography/X‐ray certification as required by Arizona regulations
Minimum 3 years of dental assisting experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and infection-control protocols
Excellent communication, organizational, and patient-relations skills
Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with digital radiography and practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Advanced assisting/expanded functions training
