THE POSITION Begin an exciting and rewarding opportunity with the Pennsylvania State Police! We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Legal Assistant 2 to join our team in the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement. In this role, you will help us identify and assess violations of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Apply today to utilize your clerical and investigative skills to help us enforce liquor laws! DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing investigation reports and related documents. Your work will involve reviewing and examining violation letters and related Incident and Administrative Investigation Reports for compliance with the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. You will manage an assigned caseload of complex and in-depth investigations, maintain an in-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations, and handle sensitive and confidential matters. You can expect to prepare case summaries for presentation to the bureau director and legal team. Additionally, you will review and evaluate involved legal documents to determine if the documents are contrary to the requirements of laws, regulations, and existing departmental policies. Work Schedule and Additional Information: * Full-time employment * Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. * Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. * Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. * You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: * One year as a Legal Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or * Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience; or * An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: * You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: * You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
