REAL ALLOY in Loudon, TN is hiring a Metals Melting Operations Technician to support furnace activities that power our production line.
Pay, bonuses, and schedule
- Hourly pay: $23.08 to start
- Wage progression: $26.68 after 90 days with solid attendance and performance
- Sign-on: $300 after 90 days (Rehires not eligible)
- Retention: $600 after 9 months (Rehires not eligible)
- Shifts: 12-hour rotations (7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM). You will work both days and nights.
- Rotation: 4 on, 3 off, 3 on, 1 off, 3 on, 3 off, 4 on, 7 off; repeats monthly
- Workload: 15 days on with 7 days off in the cycle
Your impact
- Assist with furnace operations to maintain safe, stable production
- Support melt activities, material handling, and line flow
- Perform checks, record basic data in Excel, and communicate status updates
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work area
What you’ll need
- High School Diploma or GED
- Manufacturing experience preferred; strong safety mindset required
- Motivated, ethical, results-driven, and comfortable with fast pace
- Excellent communication; basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work overtime and rotate shifts in a 24/7/365 environment
Working conditions
- Industrial setting with extreme heat near furnaces
- PPE required at all times
- Occasional tight spaces and elevated work areas
Physical demands
- Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Use vision to inspect, judge distances, and differentiate colors
- Situational awareness: observe surrounding traffic and locate team members
- Rely on touch and smell to detect equipment issues
- Speak and understand verbal instructions; hear safety alarms
- Climb ladders; balance; work at heights
- Frequent walking, standing, reaching, crouching, sitting, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and torso rotation
