Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join an established NP driven internal medicine consult practice which is expanding to the Columbia area. This role involves initial medical consultation, and subsequent evaluation and treatment of both acute and chronic medical conditions at inpatient psychiatric facilities. Providers evaluate and treat medical conditions only. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively will be essential. Significant scheduling flexibility is available.  Position may be full time or part time, there will be significant weekend hours available.  The practice fully staffs a facility in Nashville, and envisions the ideal candidate working most of the time in the Columbia area, but with occasional time in Nashville.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial medical assessments upon admission.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient conditions.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatric providers and nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records.

Experience

• A valid Nurse Practitioner license is required.
• Experience in internal medicine/family practice is essential.
• Proficiency in Meditech and Expanse is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills both patients and collaborating providers is essential.
