Job Description

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is located on the serene island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands and is a family-owned and managed beach resort nestled in a beautiful sandy bay along the Caribbean Sea. Known for our famous all-inclusive package, friendly hospitality, exciting experiences and one-of-a-kind guest amenities, there's no better place to see life in the Virgin Islands than at Bolongo Bay. Our small, fun, lively and personable atmosphere allows us to offer a guest and employee experience that is unlike any other big all-inclusive resort and it's what makes us so unique and popular to this day. We are currently the only all-inclusive resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands. To be eligible for this position, candidates must either reside on St. Thomas or be able to relocate before the start date.

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort is seeking a Cook to join our team! As a Cook you will assist in all preparing and cooking operations to ensure a smooth-running restaurant kitchen for both day and night operations. To practice in a “Serve Safe” environment of proper Food Sanitation. All staff members will exhibit a professional attitude to all managers, co-workers, and guests daily.

Qualifications Include:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Line Cook.
• Prior experience in resorts is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills; able to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
• Can-do spirit; able to build positive relationships with residents, family members, and staff.
• Customer service focus; able to resolve conflict/issues without becoming emotional or defensive.
• Strong time management skills: able to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion.
• General knowledge of proper safety and sanitation practices. ServSafe Certification highly preferred.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule which can include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical requirements

• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift 30lbs or more.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $14.00- $19.00 per hour

Experience: Restaurant experience: 2 years (Required)

• 8-hour shift per day; 30-40 hours per week

• St Thomas, VI: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification: VI Food Handler's Card (Required)
