PRESS Restaurant is seeking a talented and motivated Pastry Sous Chef to support and help execute our pastry program. In this role, you will work closely with our culinary leadership team to produce refined, seasonal desserts while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.

Under the guidance of Chef Philip Tessier and Managing Partner Justin Williams, PRESS is committed to culinary excellence and providing thoughtful, ingredient-driven dining experiences. As part of the team behind Michelin-starred PRESS Restaurant, the Pastry Sous Chef will play an important role in supporting daily pastry production and contributing to the continued evolution of our pastry program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of plated desserts, breads, mignardises, and specialty confections.
  • Support the Pastry Chef in maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Oversee daily pastry production and help ensure efficient workflow and organization in the pastry kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to support seasonal menu development and dessert pairings.
  • Help manage ordering, inventory, and proper storage of pastry ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior pastry team members.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Pastry Sous Chef, or similar role, preferably in a fine dining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking fundamentals, and dessert production.
  • Passion for seasonal ingredients, precision, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high standards.
