Product-Minded Software Engineer
Location: Onsite – Seattle, WA (Chicago, IL optional) Employment Type: Full-Time Company: Confidential / Our Client Industry: Supply Chain & Manufacturing Software Stage: Series A | ~$6M Funded | Early Team (~5 employees)
About the Role
Our client is seeking a high-caliber, product-minded software engineer to join a small, elite founding team. This role is for an engineer who thrives in early-stage environments, takes extreme ownership, and enjoys building real systems that customers depend on.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role. You will work closely with founders, product, and customers to design, build, and scale core platform functionality. If you are looking for a management role, heavy process, or large-team structure, this role will not be a fit.
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and ship core product features end-to-end
Own critical systems across the stack with accountability for quality and performance
Build and maintain API integrations, including integrations with ERP and operations systems
Partner cross-functionally with product, operations, and customers to translate real-world problems into scalable solutions
Improve platform reliability, performance, and developer experience as the system scales
Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks and proactively drive solutions without being asked
Contribute to technical direction, architecture decisions, and engineering standards
Experience
3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
Prior experience at a high-bar, fast-growing startup or similarly rigorous technical environment
Background at a Tier-1 VC-backed company strongly preferred
Demonstrated track record of fast growth, increased ownership, or promotions
Experience working on production systems used by real customers
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a Top-30 university or equivalent technical rigor
Technical Skills
Strong software engineering fundamentals and system design skills
Experience across the modern web stack, ideally including:
TypeScript (strongly preferred)
React and/or Next.js
Python or Go
Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and third-party systems
Prior exposure to ERP, supply chain, manufacturing, or operations platforms is a strong plus
Product & Collaboration Skills
Highly product-driven mindset — understands customer workflows and business impact
Comfortable working directly with customers and stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to operate autonomously while collaborating closely with a small team
Bias toward action, ownership, and execution
Eligibility & Location Requirements
U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder required
Willing and excited to work onsite in Seattle, WA (Chicago, IL optional depending on role fit)
Nice to Have
Genuine interest in supply chains, manufacturing, or hardware-adjacent industries
Experience working on early-stage products from zero to scale
Evidence of shipping complex systems rather than isolated features
What We’re Not Looking For
Candidates with frequent job changes (multiple roles under one year)
Recently transitioned managers who are not fully committed to being hands-on ICs
Engineers with weak technical fundamentals or reliance on legacy / low-bar stacks
Candidates who require constant direction instead of owning problems end-to-end
Why Join Our Client
Work directly with founders and influence core product decisions
Own meaningful systems from day one
High impact, low bureaucracy, real customer problems
Opportunity to grow rapidly with the company as it scales
