About the Role:
The Project Lead Low Voltage Technician at Left Coast Electric Inc. is responsible for overseeing and executing low voltage electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring all work meets safety standards and client specifications. This role requires coordinating with team members, subcontractors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality workmanship. The Project Lead will manage project schedules, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to lead and mentor a team of technicians. Ultimately, the role is critical in delivering reliable low voltage systems that support the operational needs of various commercial and industrial facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with completion of a technical training program in low voltage systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in low voltage electrical installation and maintenance.
- Proven experience in leading or supervising technical teams on electrical projects.
- Experience with CCTV, Access Control and Structured Cabling.
- Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes related to low voltage systems.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites within California.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in low voltage systems such as NICET or equivalent.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Experience running conduit if necessary.
- Familiarity with building automation systems and integrated low voltage technologies.
- OSHA 30-hour safety certification or higher.
- Associate degree or higher in electrical technology or related field.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise low voltage installation projects including security systems, fire alarms, data communications, access control, and audio/visual systems.
- Coordinate daily activities of the technician team to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
