Job Description
Our client is a large and well regarded hospice care organization in the Bronx. They are looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to support patients with complex psychiatric needs across palliative and medical care settings.
This position focuses on patients experiencing delirium at end of life, dementia-related behavioral concerns, and dual diagnoses—whether or not they are hospice-eligible.
The NP will provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy. There is a strong emphasis on early follow-up and stabilization, safety planning, and helping reduce the burden on nursing staff through active psychiatric involvement.
The role includes collaborating with an on-site psychiatrist and the palliative care institute, with opportunities to address end-of-life anxiety and emotional distress through both talk therapy and medications.
