One of the largest and most highly respected contractors operating across the Tri-State area is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead project buyout across a diverse portfolio of large-scale commercial and institutional work.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the heart of project execution. You’ll own the buyout phase of awarded projects, partnering closely with project management, estimating, and operations teams to lock in scope, pricing, and risk before work hits the field.

Responsibilities

• Lead full project buyout for awarded construction projects
• Negotiate subcontractor and vendor agreements, pricing, and scope
• Partner with Estimating, Project Management, and Operations teams
• Ensure buyout aligns with estimate, contract requirements, and project strategy
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and schedule
• Support projects across NYC and New England markets
• Build and maintain strong relationships with trade partners and suppliers

Experience Required

• 5+ years of experience in construction purchasing / procurement
• Proven track record buying out jobs for a GC or CM
• Strong understanding of subcontractor scopes, contracts, and cost control
• Experience on commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher-ed, or similar projects
• Confident negotiator who understands risk, scope gaps, and schedule impacts
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
