Raw Materials Technician

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Raw Materials Technician will coordinate the activities/tasks that relate to raw materials, including incoming raw material approval (sensory inspection/label and COA review) and shelf-life extensions. The Raw Materials Technician will adhere to safety procedures, ensure a safe work environment, meet and exceed product quality expectations, and assist in achieving process reliability goals. 

Expectations:

• Sample incoming materials for testing/acceptance
• Sample/resample material for shelf life extensions
• Perform sensory tests as required to accept raw materials as specified in inspection plans
• Perform sensory tests as required to extend or discard materials per shelf life extension requests
• Obtain COA's and label pictures for all incoming materials
• Enter Quality Notification (QN) for rejected raw materials into the system and identify tasks/activities required
• Review labels to ensure Kosher, Organic, and other Identity Preserved requirements
• Responsible for identifying and reporting any food safety and quality concerns. 
• Conduct operational audits
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Detail Oriented, MS Office, Technical and Continual Improvement Process 
• Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering highquality results
• Three years experience in quality control, quality assurance, and/or food manufacturing
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
