SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Residency Director/Regional Clinical Coordinator is responsible for ensuring safe, accurate, and cost-effective drug use by reviewing and dispensing orders, verifying drug, dosage, and route, and identifying potential interactions or incompatibilities. The role maintains strict control over the distribution of controlled substances in compliance with legal requirements. It collaborates closely with nursing and medical staff to optimize drug therapy and ensure efficient distribution for positive patient outcomes. The Residency Director/Regional Clinical Coordinator adheres to all sterile product policies and procedures and oversees clinical activities across the department. This position also participates in multidisciplinary committee meetings as designated by the Pharmacy Director. Additionally, the Residency Director/Regional Clinical Coordinator leads the residency program at St. Joseph Medical Center, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and collaborating with the Pharmacy Director and other residency leaders to manage and enhance the program. This regional role will support the East Region, specifically St. Joseph Medical Center (25%) and Lancaster Medical Center (25%) and will oversee the Pharmacy Residency Program at St. Joseph Medical Center (50%). 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
  • Must be a licensed pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Has completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency and a minimum of three (3) years of pharmacy practice experience in a hospital practice; or has completed ASHP-accredited PGY1and PGY2 residencies with one (1) or more years of pharmacy practice experience in a hospital practice environment; or without completion of an ASHP-accredited residency, have five (5) or more years of pharmacy practice experience in a hospital environment.
  • Supervisory experience required
