The Innovation Scout drives early identification and translation of emerging technologies, scientific opportunities, and external innovations into actionable insights and experiments that inform product, platform, and portfolio direction. Acting as a bridge between the external innovation landscape and internal strategic priorities, the role focuses on separating meaningful signals from noise, rapidly testing high‑potential ideas through lightweight prototyping, and accelerating the path from insight to validated opportunity. By enabling faster, evidence‑based decision‑making, the Innovation Scout helps shape future‑facing capabilities and ensures the organization remains ahead of key technology and scientific inflection points.
Job DescriptionSenior Principal Innovation Scout - Hybrid
Location: Cambridge, USA (Cambridge, Massachusetts)
This hybrid role is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role; please only apply if these locations are accessible for you.
Innovation Discovery & EvaluationThe salary for this position is expected to range between $119,700.00 and $222,300.00 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors such as relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Compensation includes a performance‑based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
US‑based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package including health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits. Employees are also eligible for a generous time‑off package including vacation, personal days, holidays, and other leaves.
