Position Summary: Under general supervision Shipping verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, shipping product for material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming and outgoing product or material; and arranging for transportation of products. This is a second shift position (3:30p - 11:30p with paid lunch).

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of four (4) years’ in the working in a fast pace shipping environment and must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Required Skills:

General Ability to:

• Speak, read and write English fluently.
• Comprehend industry standards, customer specifications, designated reference materials and their appropriate application.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Work under pressure with time constraints.
• Effectively follow company systems and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Computer knowledge with MS word, excel and outlook.
• Strong communicator who can juggle multiple tasks.
• Highly organized with a strong understanding of when shipments are due to arrive as well as be sent out.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare documents such as work orders and shipping orders to route materials.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, and damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes.
• Determine shipping methods for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures.
• Pack, seal, label and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, etc.
• Ability to follow specific packaging required by customers.
• Communicate with management team for daily shipping schedule.
• Arrange any pick up request.
• Prepare products for shipment.
• Maintain all shipping records required by AS9100.
• Maintain stock for all shipping materials.

Physical Requirements:

• This position requires the individual to stand for the entirety of the shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

Compensation/Benefits:Summit offers a variety of health and benefit programs. Which include Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA plans, Hospital and Accident plans, Life Insurance, PTO, and Paid Holidays. Benefits are effective 1st day of the month following 30 days of hire.

Pay Range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 hour based on experience.
