Overview: Faux is seeking a full-time SOUS CHEF to join our opening team. This role is ideal for a driven culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about quality, consistency, and team leadership.


Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in a full-service restaurant
  • 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong knife skills and solid foundation in culinary techniques
  • Thorough knowledge of DOH standards; Food Handler’s Certificate required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional with a positive attitude
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including opening/closing procedures, prep lists, inventory, scheduling, and staff training
  • Prepare and execute menu items with consistency, precision, and attention to detail
  • Lead and expedite service, maintaining a calm, organized, and professional kitchen environment
  • Train, mentor, and support kitchen staff to uphold standards of performance and consistency
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness, ensuring DOH and ServSafe compliance
  • Manage ordering and receiving of food and supplies
  • Monitor food safety, sanitation, and waste reduction practices
  • Ensure organization and cleanliness of all kitchen, prep, and storage areas
  • Support maintenance of kitchen systems, equipment, and facilities
  • Taste and evaluate dishes regularly to ensure quality and consistency
  • Lead by example on the line, ensuring excellence in quality, timing, and presentation
