Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse with recent progressive care or step-down experience seeking a 13-week assignment in a well-regarded acute care setting. The position offers 12-hour night shifts with a 36-hour workweek, providing an excellent chance to apply specialized skills in a dynamic healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities: * Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical step-down unit * Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams * Respond promptly to changes in patient status and implement appropriate interventions * Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements * Assist with patient and family education to promote optimal health outcomes * Support bedside care and ensure patient safety during the entire shift Qualifications and Experience: * Active Kansas RN license required * Minimum of 1 year recent experience as a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse in acute care * Preferred experience in a Step-Down or progressive care unit * Current BLS certification * Reliable, compassionate, and able to work night shifts and weekends as needed Shift & Schedule: * 12-hour night shifts * Approximately 36 hours per week * Weekend and holiday coverage on an as-needed basis * Occasional floating to medical floor or step-down unit This contract assignment is an excellent chance to gain valuable experience in a focused clinical setting while working flexible hours and contributing to high-quality patient care.
