Superintendent – Commercial Construction

Manhattan, NY

Full-Time | $70,000 – $145,000 (DOE)

We are partnering with a leading general contractor in the New York area that is seeking a Superintendent to join their team. About the Role

The Superintendent will be responsible for the successful execution of projects from mobilization through closeout. You’ll work hand-in-hand with project managers, subcontractors, and owners to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This role requires a mix of field leadership, technical knowledge, and organizational skills — along with the ability to motivate crews and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of daily field operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to meet project goals.
• Implement and maintain construction schedules, making adjustments as necessary.
• Monitor compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Track and report daily progress, issues, and manpower requirements.
• Conduct site meetings and coordinate with project management and design teams.
• Enforce company policies on safety, performance, and conduct.
• Drive continuous improvement in site practices and project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• 1–7 years of construction experience in a Superintendent or similar field leadership role.
• Comfortable with technology and digital tools — must be proficient in laptops, scheduling, and project management software.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety requirements.
• Experience in civil, infrastructure, or general contracting projects is highly desirable.
• OSHA certification or other industry credentials are a plus.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
