We have spent years building a well-established, world-class cellar, and we are now looking for a visionary Wine Director to steward this collection into its next chapter.

The Role

As the Wine Director, you aren't just managing a list—you are telling a story. You will be responsible for maintaining the excellence of our current French and American-heavy program while strategically expanding our offerings. We are seeking a curator with a deep-seated passion for small-scale producers, biodynamic farming, and low-intervention winemaking that aligns with our seasonally inspired, ingredient-driven culinary philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curation & Growth: Maintain and grow an extensive global wine list with a primary focus on French and American regions. Identify and source "hidden gems" from small, quality-obsessed producers.
  • Cellar Management: Oversee all inventory, ordering, and cellar organization. Ensure the list remains profitable while pushing boundaries in quality and variety.
  • Culinary Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the Chef to create dynamic pairings that elevate our seasonal menus.
  • Education: Lead staff training sessions to demystify wine for our team, fostering a culture of knowledge and confidence on the floor.
  • Floor Presence: Be the face of the wine program. Engage with guests to provide personalized recommendations that are approachable yet sophisticated.
  • Sustainability Focus: Actively seek out wines that prioritize soil health, biodiversity, and minimal chemical interference.
The Ideal Candidate
  • The Expert: You have a profound understanding of global wine regions, specifically the nuances of Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Rhône, and the premier AVAs of the United States.
  • The Philosopher: You are an advocate for the "natural" movement but possess the discernment to prioritize quality and technical excellence above all else.
  • The Professional: You hold advanced certifications (CMS, WSET, or equivalent experience) and have a proven track record in high-volume, fine-dining environments.
  • The Mountain Resident: You thrive in a high-altitude, fast-paced resort environment and understand the unique demands of the Breckenridge community.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in wine program management or as a Lead Sommelier.
  • Extensive experience with cellar management software and inventory control.
  • Exceptional communication skills—you can talk soil chemistry with a connoisseur and flavor profiles with a novice.
  • A "hands-on" leadership style with a willingness to assist the floor team during peak service.
